This year’s event will share Latino traditions as we come together to celebrate the tremendous sounds, sights and tastes of Latino culture. Attendees can dance to live music, taste authentic foods, and shop the marketplace for great arts and crafts. Featured entertainment includes Mariachi Voces de Mexico, Joel & Omar, Yamir Gorritz, and Vanelis as well as free Zumba and Salsa dance lessons.   • Clark's House, Inc. has a new program for homeless Veterans and Veterans in general through the Supportive Services for Veterans and their families (SSVF) which can provide assistance to homeless veterans with transition more quickly into permanent housing or help veterans in permanent housing to remain permanent. Clark's House, Inc. will also try to refer other homeless people (non-veterans) to services and help available in the community.   • Polk Vision wants your opinion on community health issues in Polk County and is working with the Polk County Health Department to conduct a health assessment to capture a broad spectrum of the community. We ask that you take a few moments of your time to share your thoughts and help us contribute to a healthier Polk. The results of this survey will be used to identify the greatest health concerns needing to be addressed in the next three years within our community. Your input is greatly appreciated. The link to the survey is as follows: http://www.polkhealth2014.com/ Specifically, the survey is designed for those 18 years of age or older who live and/or work in Polk County. The goal of the Health Department is to receive 3,000 responses by August 28, 2014.
